 无锡中央车站位于无锡市中心北部，通江大道西侧，兴昌路北侧，主要包括换乘枢纽、客运枢纽和商业中心三个板块。占地4.87万平方米，建筑面积13万平方米，总设计容纳能力3.6万人次/日，高峰小时发送量为5400人，日发班次可达2400班，成为江苏省内功能最齐全、面积最大的综合交通枢纽。位于北广场交通综合体北侧的长途汽车站整体建筑为地上三层，地下一层，地下层为长途客车到达层，并设有出租车上客停车区，地上一层为公交枢纽、出租车社会车辆短暂停车位，以及长途客运站入口；地上二层为长途车发车层；三层是班车停车场以及候车大厅。该枢纽有机融合城际高铁、地铁、公交车、出租车等交通方式，实现无缝对接和零换乘。据悉，新车站还将启用智能化系统，在全国范围内领先打造“感知车站”。
